CHARLES NONKONYANA BA, MBA
EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN & CEO

Charles Nonkonyana is a conscientious and self-motivated individual with great enthusiasm and determination to succeed. He is hard working, reliable and resourceful with excellent organizational and people management skills, combined with the ability to prioritize a substantial workload. Successfully receives, assimilates and evaluates information quickly in order to complete any task efficiently. Friendly and good-humoured personality whatever the circumstances.

He is experienced in strategy formulation and implementation, financial analysis, passion in business development, people management especially development and motivating of employees. Charles is an experienced executive in the Financial Services Sector which he cemented while he was engaged as the Operations Business Leader at Old Mutual SA for 12 years. From Old Mutual, Charles joined POPCRU GROUP OF COMPANIES (PGC) Pty Ltd as the Operations Director after which he was appointed by the PGC Board as the Managing Director of Workers life (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of PGC. He left after 5 years to become the Chief Executive Officer of Bophelo Life Group Pty Ltd after which he was appointed the Managing Director of African Unity Insurance for 1 Year.

Charles is the `Chairman of CN Holdings Company. He is also the Executive Chairman of MECSA Construction (Pty), which is a 100% subsidiary of CN Holdings. Charles completed a BA Degree in 1994 from the University of the Western Cape. He also completed General Management Programme (GMP) which is equivalent to an Honors qualification in 1999, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) 2003 both at the Netherlands Business School in Amsterdam. Charles has served as a Non-Executive director for various companies involved in the financial services and Infrastructure Finance Business. These included Workerslife, Calling the Cape, Popcru Group of Companies, Sishangeni Lodge, African Unity Insurance, Bophelo Life, Popcru Investments.

CARLOS GALEGO BSC ENG. PHYSICAL METALLURGY
NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Carlos has been extensively involved in project development, finance, implementation and management. He is proficient in variety of languages such as English, French, Afrikaans, with Portuguese as his home language.  Beyond the delivery of the projects, he has been involved in commercialising and running the mega organisations post project implementation to ensure viability and profitability. His specialties include Project management, phosphate mining, phosphoric acid, engineering, marketing, fertilisers, strategic management, upgrades and company turnarounds.

At Transnet, he served as the Project Director responsible for the delivery of the 700km pipeline from Durban to Johannesburg, South Africa and all associated infrastructure such as pump stations and corresponding accumulation tank terminals in Durban and Johannesburg. the project is to be completed in 2013 at a cost of USD 2 billion

As a Chief Operating Officer for a period of 3,5 years at Forskor Ltd, his responsibility included overseeing the execution and delivery of a 3 million tons per annum phosphate mine and a 700 000 tpa as P2O5, phosphoric acid facility. It also included all technical, environmental, strategic responsibilities and projects in the group which included the opening of the new mine and the completion of the 80% expansion of the phosphoric acid facility.

Previously involved for 11 years with projects at the Industrial Development Corporation of SA as project manager right through to head of Large Beneficiation Projects Strategic Business Unit. This included involvement in several projects either during conceptualization, feasibility, construction and commissioning as well as through the early phases of the projects. This included among others, Columbus Stainless Steel, Alusaf Aluminium Smelter, Mozal Aluminium Smelter and expansions, Konkola Copper Project in Zambia, Huletts Aluminium rolling facility, Saldanha Steel, several titanium sands projects both in SA and Mozambique, Pebble Bed Nuclear Reactor development and associated fuel plant, Coega Zinc Smelter Project and conceptual development of Coega IDZ, and several other smaller projects and studies.

NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Trade and investment specialist, as a diplomat was Attaché and Counsellor at Portuguese Embassies around the world. With more than 15 years of experience, holds a law degree and has experience as executive director in the industrial and consultancy sectors in Portugal, Angola,  Spain, United Kingdom, South Africa and Southeast Asia.

Was awarded with the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency “Brand Ambassador Award” for his services bringing Portugal´s companies investment into the province, increasing the bilateral partnership with South Africa, and providing new jobs and technology transfer. Previously he also did consulting for banking groups, construction and I.T. companies.

João Pedro Pereira has experience building  business networks, defining prospective strategies to promote companies growth and development.
